Creative Easter-Lettering Project
To prepare you for the upcoming Easter season, we have created a small lettering project. Although the letters are in German, you can just replicate it or adopt it in your own language. Happy lettering! Oh, btw, “Frohe Ostern” means “Happy Easter” :o)
- Draw light auxiliary lines utilizing a pencil, i.e. our MONO 100. Afterwards erase some parts of the lines so that the pencil drawings are hardly visible
- Redraw the letters with your favourite ABT colour. In our lettering we utilized the ABT-025 (lightorange) and ABT-133 (chartreuse) pens. Technique: When drawing in the upward direction, apply little pressure, when drawing in the downward direction apply more pressure to get thicker lines. This way you add more dynamic to your lettering.
- You can create highlights by using the blending technique. Simply add the darker of both colours on a foil or CD and absorb it with the ABT blender pen. Now just apply the colour on your blender pen right into your letters.
- Another great technique to give the lettering a more vivid effect is to add shades. Our calligraphy pen Fudenosuke and MONO twin marker are perfect for creating those light shades.
