The Christmas decorations are back in the attic and there's now space for some new decorations! After the sparkle and glitter of the past few weeks, it’s all about a wintery and reserved feel with our DIY honeycomb spheres.

What you need:

  • Liquid glue Aqua [ to product ]
  • ABT Dual Brush Pens [ to product ]
  • Pencil MONO 100 [ to product ]
  • one roll of greaseproof paper
  • white paper
  • white cardboard
  • scissors
  • ruler
  • compass

How to make them:

Step 1

Use the compass to draw a circle on white cardboard, then cut it out and halve it.

Step 2

Now cut about 60 rectangles out of the greaseproof paper that are big enough for the semicircle to roughly fit in.

Step 3

On a sheet of white paper, draw lines in two different colours 2 cm apart.

Step 4

Now start to glue the combs. Place one rectangle on the first line and run the Tombow Aqua Liquid Glue down every second line on the rectangle (i.e. the 3rd, 5th and 7th lines, drawn in grey here).

With the next rectangle, coat the other lines with glue (the light blue lines here, i.e. the 2nd, 4th and 6th). Glue all 60 sheets in this way.

Step 5

Then place the semicircle on the rectangle, draw an outline around it and cut the stack slightly larger than the semicircle.

Step 6

Now glue the semicircles onto both sides.

Step 7

Finally, unfold the honeycomb ball and glue the two ends together.
