Tombow DIY Project: Decorative Autumn Branch

Tombow DIY Project: Decorative Autumn Branch
21 days ago No comments

Our popular ABT Dual Brush Pens are versatile. You can even use them to draw on cork matting. Use them in conjunction with our Multi Talent liquid adhesive and other materials to make a colourful autumnal decoration for your wall.

YOU WILL NEED:

  • Tombow Multi Talent liquid adhesive [go to product]
  • Tombow ABT Dual Brush Pens in autumnal colours [go to product]
  • Tombow MONO twin
  • Branch, approx. 60 cm long
  • Cork matting
  • Wooden beads
  • Embroidery thread or wool
  • Scissors
  • Pencil
  • Paper

Here‘s how:

Step 1

Cut leaf templates out of the paper. Draw the leaf shapes on the cork matting using the MONO twin, and cut them out. Draw the shapes as a mirror-image as well, so that you can stick them together back-to-back.

Step 2

Cut a piece of embroidery thread approx. 50 cm in length. Starting at the bottom, thread a bead on and secure with a knot, then coat a leaf with Multi Talent, place the thread in the middle, and glue a second leaf on top. Repeat the process until you have a short chain with three leaves and beads. Make a total of four to five chains.

Step 3

Using the MONO twin, draw lines and patterns on every other leaf on the chain, and colour them in with the ABT Dual Brush Pens.

Step 4

Attach the chains to the branch by wrapping the thread around the branch multiple times. Tie a piece of string to the branch for you to hang it from.
