Lisa Pahlke is a young artist from Dresden/Germany. Her work is another proof for the wide variety of applications of our ABT Dual Brush Pens. Or would you have thought that this impressive 3D-drawing was made with our pens?
Lisa's drawings have often large formats - the one here, called "zerknittert" (crinkled), has originally the size of 1.5 m x 2 m. For a work of this size, Lisa uses about five to six ABT Dual Brush Pens (N15, black). The young artist avoids on purpose any similarity between her drawings and real objects. "The viewer himself can decide what he sees in each work", says Lisa. "My drawings are intended to surprise the viewer for a short moment as the technique is usually only seen on second sight. Thus, the drawings seem to be printed when seen from a distance. This effect can be created very well with the ABT Dual Brush Pens."
The drawings consist of an uncountable number of single lines. By overlapping lines, darker areas are created. This leads to the effect that the drawings look three-dimensional.
To the question how she found her own, very special way of drawing, Lisa has a simple answer:"I started originally in sculpting. I love sculptures, but somehow I prefer drawing. And this it the result of it!"
